Join us for a full day of potters wheel tuition. This day is aimed at complete beginners or those at the beginning of their learning.
The day will start with a demonstration by our pottery teacher, followed by the rest of the morning on the potters wheel learning how to prepare and centre the clay, basic throwing and shaping techniques and how to remove pots from the wheel.
An hour lunch break will consist of a limited menu from our Eden Tearoom menu, which will be available to pre-order from and is included in the workshop price, as well as two non alcoholic drinks throughout the day. Vegetarian, Vegan and Gluten Free options will be available.
The afternoon will continue with more time on the potters wheel to improve your technique and increase your clay weights. We will stop around 2.30pm to clean the potters wheel (all part of the learning process). In the last hour you will have the opportunity to choose two of your pots to decorate with coloured slips. Each participant will then choose another 4 pots to keep from their day’s makes. All 6 pots will be dried, fired and glazed in their colour choice. Finished pieces will need to be collected at a later date.
The total cost of the day includes all clay, tuition, firings, glaze, Eden Tearoom lunch, 2 x hot/cold drinks from the menu. There are only 5 places available so participants will get plenty of support, advice and 1-1 tuition. Adults only.
*We advise that you come with shorter nails if possible, tie back any long hair and wear closed toe shoes for your safety in the workshop* Apron and all tools provided.
