DESCRIPTION:Open Studio Access – Make Time for Pottery \nFancy some uninterrupted time in the pottery studio to work on your own projects? Our Open Studio Access sessions give you the freedom to create at your own pace\, using our workshop facilities and equipment. \nWhether you love hand-building\, throwing on the potter’s wheel or experimenting with something completely new\, come along and make something that’s uniquely yours. \nYou can book 2\,4 or 6 hours of studio time.  Our Pottery Teachers will be around to offer advice and guidance\, but please note this is not a taught session or one-to-one tuition. \nWhen: Every Tuesday from 9.30-3.30 \nChoose a length of session to suit you and if its less than 6 hours\, drop us an email at workshops@edentearoom.com to let us know what time you’ll be arriving and if you’re handbuilding or will need a potters wheel. \nYou’ll need to purchase your clay from us\, so we know what is going into our kiln. Any clay used that is not purchased from us will be charged Kilnshare prices for firing and the relevant forms need to be completed so we have as much information about the clay as possible.  This helps to avoid damage to our kiln shelves and kiln.  Full 12.5kg bags of Stoneware and Earthenware cost £40\, half bags £20 and quarter bags £12. SUMMARY:Potters Wheel Taster Sat 24th October 11am
DESCRIPTION:SOLD OUT \nThis 90-minute potters wheel taster will introduce you to the basic principles of making a small pot.  You will be shown how to prepare the clay\, centre the clay onto the potters wheel and how to manipulate the clay to create a form.  This class is taught by our professional Pottery Teachers who have years of experience and teaching.  They will give step-by-step instructions\, perform demonstrations and support you in the process.  You will get two 400g balls of clay to create two pots. \nOnce the class is finished\, the work needs 5-7 days to dry out before going into the kiln for its first firing to 1000oC.  After that we will glaze your pieces in colours you have chosen during the class and your work is then re-fired to over 1200oC.  Once cooled and wrapped\, we will contact you for collection.  The whole process takes approximately 2 weeks. \nFor your safety we advise that no open toed shoes are worn\, long hair is tied back and nails are short if possible. We will provide aprons but please wear clothes and shoes you don’t mind getting clay on. Please pass this information onto everyone you are booking places for. \nYour workshop will be run by our Pottery Teacher Christine. \nPlease note these Potters Wheel Tasters are for aged 16+ only.  We run classes specifically for children during the school holidays. \nWorkshop vouchers are available for this workshop. DESCRIPTION:Our very popular Fairy House workshop returns for Autumn. Come and create your own unique seasonal house using the cutters provided and your imagination.  The basic house shape are pre-made for you and you get the fun bit by making it your own by adding different decoration and props. DESCRIPTION:This workshop is for children aged 7+ to experience the potters wheel.  You will be guided and helped by our Pottery Teacher Vikki on how to prepare the clay\, fix it to the wheel and how to form a basic pot using just your hands and fingers. \nDue to the strength needed to manipulate the clay and operate the foot peddle this class is not suitable for under 7’s.  Please don’t book a younger child onto this class as they will not be able to participate on the day. \nIf your child has additional needs and will require extra support you will need to be prepared to get involved.  Please email Vikki directly to advise her – vikki@edentearoom.com \nParents and guardians are welcome to stay in the room to watch the class or they may to visit our Tearoom\, although we cannot guarantee availability without booking first. DESCRIPTION:We’re running another daytime beginners pottery course returns for a block of 4 sessions.  This course is suitable for anyone interested in learning about creating in clay or who may want to refresh rusty skills.  We will focus on hand building techniques and processes.  This course is suitable for anyone aged 16+. If you are interested in learning how to make pottery on a potters wheel\, try one of our Potters Wheel Taster sessions and look out for our next  Beginners Potters Wheel Course – see our website listings page \nThis course will start on Monday 2nd November and run for 4 consecutive Mondays until 23rd November. Sessions will start at 10.30am until 1pm and the total cost is £150\, which includes all clay\, glazes\, tuition\, kiln firings and use of studio facilities.  Our teacher Vikki is a fully qualified professional who has been teaching pottery for over 25 years. Her endless patience and friendly nature will ensure you have a positive experience regardless of your skills or confidence. DESCRIPTION:Open Studio Access – Make Time for Pottery \nFancy some uninterrupted time in the pottery studio to work on your own projects? Our Open Studio Access sessions give you the freedom to create at your own pace\, using our workshop facilities and equipment. \nWhether you love hand-building\, throwing on the potter’s wheel or experimenting with something completely new\, come along and make something that’s uniquely yours. \nYou can book 2 or 4 hours of studio time.  Our Pottery Teacher Vikki will be around to offer advice and guidance\, but please note this is not a taught session or one-to-one tuition. \nChoose a length of session to suit you and if its less than 4 hours\, drop us an email at workshops@edentearoom.com to let us know what time you’ll be arriving and if you’re handbuilding or will need a potters wheel. \nYou’ll need to purchase your clay from us\, so we know what is going into our kiln. Any clay used that is not purchased from us will be charged Kilnshare prices for firing and the relevant forms need to be completed so we have as much information about the clay as possible.  This helps to avoid damage to our kiln shelves and kiln.  Full 12.5kg bags of Stoneware and Earthenware cost £40\, half bags £20 and quarter bags £12. SUMMARY:Potters Wheel Taster Sat 7th Nov 10.30am
DESCRIPTION:This 90-minute potters wheel taster will introduce you to the basic principles of making a small pot.  You will be shown how to prepare the clay\, centre the clay onto the potters wheel and how to manipulate the clay to create a form.  This class is taught by our professional Pottery Teachers who have years of experience and teaching.  They will give step-by-step instructions\, perform demonstrations and support you in the process.  You will get two 400g balls of clay to create two pots. \nOnce the class is finished\, the work needs 5-7 days to dry out before going into the kiln for its first firing to 1000oC.  After that we will glaze your pieces in colours you have chosen during the class and your work is then re-fired to over 1200oC.  Once cooled and wrapped\, we will contact you for collection.  The whole process takes approximately 2 weeks. \nFor your safety we advise that no open toed shoes are worn\, long hair is tied back and nails are short if possible. We will provide aprons but please wear clothes and shoes you don’t mind getting clay on. Please pass this information onto everyone you are booking places for. \nYour workshop will be run by our Pottery Teacher Christine. \nPlease note these Potters Wheel Tasters are for aged 16+ only.  We run classes specifically for children during the school holidays. \nWorkshop vouchers are available for this workshop.
