DESCRIPTION:Open Studio Access – Make Time for Pottery \nFancy some uninterrupted time in the pottery studio to work on your own projects? Our Open Studio Access sessions give you the freedom to create at your own pace\, using our workshop facilities and equipment. \nWhether you love hand-building\, throwing on the potter’s wheel or experimenting with something completely new\, come along and make something that’s uniquely yours. \nYou can book 2 or 4 hours of studio time.  Our Pottery Teacher Vikki will be around to offer advice and guidance\, but please note this is not a taught session or one-to-one tuition. \nChoose a length of session to suit you and if its less than 4 hours\, drop us an email at workshops@edentearoom.com to let us know what time you’ll be arriving and if you’re handbuilding or will need a potters wheel. \nYou’ll need to purchase your clay from us\, so we know what is going into our kiln. Any clay used that is not purchased from us will be charged Kilnshare prices for firing and the relevant forms need to be completed so we have as much information about the clay as possible.  This helps to avoid damage to our kiln shelves and kiln.  Full 12.5kg bags of Stoneware and Earthenware cost £40\, half bags £20 and quarter bags £12. Prices include the clay\, glazes and 2 kiln firings for the amount purchased. \nIf the session or number of hours you’d like to book shows as Sold Out\, please email us anyway and we will do our best to accommodate you. \nIf you are planning to use the potters wheel\, please bring a large lidded plastic box to store your pots in to keep them damp\, so you can turn them at a future session.  You can leave your purchase clay and labelled plastic boxes at Eden subject to our available storage space. \nCome along\, switch off from the outside world and enjoy some time making. SUMMARY:Potters Wheel Taster Fri 18th September 2.30pm
DESCRIPTION:This 90-minute potters wheel taster will introduce you to the basic principles of making a small pot.  You will be shown how to prepare the clay\, centre the clay onto the potters wheel and how to manipulate the clay to create a form.  This class is taught by our professional Pottery Teachers who have years of experience and teaching.  They will give step-by-step instructions\, perform demonstrations and support you in the process.  You will get two 400g balls of clay to create two pots. \nOnce the class is finished\, the work needs 5-7 days to dry out before going into the kiln for its first firing to 1000oC.  After that we will glaze your pieces in colours you have chosen during the class and your work is then re-fired to over 1200oC.  Once cooled and wrapped\, we will contact you for collection.  The whole process takes approximately 2 weeks. \nFor your safety we advise that no open toed shoes are worn\, long hair is tied back and nails are short if possible. We will provide aprons but please wear clothes and shoes you don’t mind getting clay on. Please pass this information onto everyone you are booking places for. \nYour workshop will be run by our Pottery Teacher Vikki \nPlease note these Potters Wheel Tasters are for aged 16+ only.  We run classes specifically for children during the school holidays. \nWorkshop vouchers are available for this workshop. SUMMARY:Daytime Beginners Pottery Course 14th Sept - 5th Oct 10.30am-1pm
DESCRIPTION:We’re running another daytime beginners pottery course returns for a block of 4 sessions.  This course is suitable for anyone interested in learning about creating in clay or who may want to refresh rusty skills.  We will focus on hand building techniques and processes.  This course is suitable for anyone aged 16+. If you are interested in learning how to make pottery on a potters wheel\, we run a beginners potters wheel evening course – see our website listings page. \nThis course will start on Monday 14th September and run for 4 consecutive Mondays until 5th October. Sessions will start at 10.30am until 1pm and the total cost is £200\, which includes all clay\, glazes\, tuition\, kiln firings and use of studio facilities.  Our teacher Vikki is a fully qualified professional who has been teaching pottery for over 25 years. Her endless patience and friendly nature will ensure you have a positive experience regardless of your skills or confidence. SUMMARY:Open Studio Access Tue 8th September from 9:30am
DESCRIPTION:Our newly extended Open Studio Access allows you to come and use the pottery workshop facilities to create your own makes.  This can be hand-building projects or on the potters wheel.  You can come for 2\, 4 or 6 hours.  This is not a taught session so although our Pottery Teachers will be on hand for support and advice they will not teach one-to-one. \nIf you book for 2 or 4 hours please email workshops@edentearoom.com to let us know what time you will be attending so we can ensure there is enough room for everyone. \nOpen Access runs every Tuesday from 9.30am – 3.30pm. You must buy your clay from us (cost covers clay\, glazes and 2 firings). Hourly Open Access rates have been reduced. \nIf the hours you require are Sold Out\, please email workshops@edentearoom.com and we will make sure we will accommodate you if possible.
