SUMMARY:Potters Wheel Taster Thurs 6th August 10.30am
DESCRIPTION:This 90-minute potters wheel taster will introduce you to the basic principles of making a small pot.  You will be shown how to prepare the clay\, centre the clay onto the potters wheel and how to manipulate the clay to create a form.  This class is taught by our professional Pottery Teachers who have years of experience and teaching.  They will give step-by-step instructions\, perform demonstrations and support you in the process.  You will get two 400g balls of clay to create two pots. \nOnce the class is finished\, the work needs 5-7 days to dry out before going into the kiln for its first firing to 1000oC.  After that we will glaze your pieces in colours you have chosen during the class and your work is then re-fired to over 1200oC.  Once cooled and wrapped\, we will contact you for collection.  The whole process takes approximately 2 weeks. \nFor your safety we advise that no open toed shoes are worn\, long hair is tied back and nails are short if possible. We will provide aprons but please wear clothes and shoes you don’t mind getting clay on. Please pass this information onto everyone you are booking places for. \nYour workshop will be run by our Pottery Teacher Christine. \nPlease note these Potters Wheel Tasters are for aged 16+ only.  We run classes specifically for children during the school holidays. \nWorkshop vouchers are available for this workshop. SUMMARY:Gel Plate Print\, Stitch\, & Embellishment Sat 8th Aug 1pm
DESCRIPTION:Join Victoria from Little house of Victoria and learn the art of printing without a press. Full step by step tuition is provided in this workshop where we will first create a printed background on fabric with gel plate printing. Natural\, botanical and abstract themes will be explored. Then we will select areas to stitch that will enhance the print\, with stitch techniques such as needle weaving and other traditional but simple stitching techniques such as couching. You will select the colour palette from a wide range of threads and beads\, all materials will be available to take with you to complete the project at home if needed. \nGel plate printing is very easy to do\, and I will guide you through each step. The print will be an abstract print\, so there is no artistic skill required. The random areas of the print will then suggest areas to work into\, and we will discuss this together\, or you have free rein to be as creative as you like. \nThis workshop also involves a few simple stitches\, and I will guide you through the steps. It is also suitable for advanced stitchers as it is possible to be creative with the printing and embroidery. The embroidered panel can be applied to a number of objects\, and you will have the materials to make yours into a needle case or a drawstring purse. \nThis workshop is suitable for beginners as all tuition will be provided. \nKit Contents: \n\nThe materials included for you to embroider in the session\, and to take away with you:\nFabric panels\, calico and cotton.\nStranded cotton embroidery threads\nPure wool threads.\nBeads and embellishments.\nJohn James embroidery needles.\n\nAll other materials that you will need will be for use within the studio\, and you will have your kit to take home to finish the project. \nThe workshop will take place at Eden Tearoom & Galleries in Newburgh\, and it is a fully accessible ground floor venue. DESCRIPTION:Our newly extended Open Studio Access allows you to come and use the pottery workshop facilities to create your own makes.  This can be hand-building projects or on the potters wheel.  You can come for 2\, 4 or 6 hours.  This is not a taught session so although our Pottery Teachers will be on hand for support and advice they will not teach one-to-one. \nIf you book for 2 or 4 hours please email workshops@edentearoom.com to let us know what time you will be attending so we can ensure there is enough room for everyone. \nFrom February 2026 we have a new arrangement starting. Open Access will run every Tuesday from 9.30am – 3.30pm. You must buy your clay from us (cost covers clay\, glazes and 2 firings). Hourly Open Access rates have been reduced.

DESCRIPTION:This workshop is for children aged 7+ to experience the potters wheel.  You will be guided and helped by our Pottery Teacher Vikki on how to prepare the clay\, fix it to the wheel and how to form a basic pot using just your hands and fingers. \nDue to the strength needed to manipulate the clay and operate the foot peddle this class is not suitable for under 7’s.  Please don’t book a younger child onto this class as they will not be able to participate on the day. \nIf your child has additional needs and will require extra support you will need to be prepared to get involved.  Please email Vikki directly to advise her – vikki@edentearoom.com \nParents and guardians are welcome to stay in the room to watch the class or they may to visit our Tearoom\, although we cannot guarantee availability without booking first. SUMMARY:Potters Wheel Taster Sun 16th August 1pm
DESCRIPTION:This 90-minute potters wheel taster will introduce you to the basic principles of making a small pot.  You will be shown how to prepare the clay\, centre the clay onto the potters wheel and how to manipulate the clay to create a form.  This class is taught by our professional Pottery Teachers who have years of experience and teaching.  They will give step-by-step instructions\, perform demonstrations and support you in the process.  You will get two 400g balls of clay to create two pots. \nOnce the class is finished\, the work needs 5-7 days to dry out before going into the kiln for its first firing to 1000oC.  After that we will glaze your pieces in colours you have chosen during the class and your work is then re-fired to over 1200oC.  Once cooled and wrapped\, we will contact you for collection.  The whole process takes approximately 2 weeks. \nFor your safety we advise that no open toed shoes are worn\, long hair is tied back and nails are short if possible. We will provide aprons but please wear clothes and shoes you don’t mind getting clay on. DESCRIPTION:Our newly extended Open Studio Access allows you to come and use the pottery workshop facilities to create your own makes.  This can be hand-building projects or on the potters wheel.  You can come for 2\, 4 or 6 hours.  This is not a taught session so although our Pottery Teachers will be on hand for support and advice they will not teach one-to-one. \nIf you book for 2 or 4 hours please email workshops@edentearoom.com to let us know what time you will be attending so we can ensure there is enough room for everyone. \nFrom February 2026 we have a new arrangement starting. DESCRIPTION:This kid’s clay workshop is suitable for age 7+.  They will be guided on how to create their own ceramic tic tac toe board game (also known as noughts and crosses).  They can design it around their own theme\, be it flowers and butterflies or cartoon characters – the possibilities are endless.  They will add colour on the day and the finished piece can be collected at a later date after drying and firing in the kiln. \nParents and guardians can stay for the workshop but we are limited on space so only one grown up per child.  If you stay\, you must be willing to support and assist your child.  If you wish to use our Tearoom you may need to book as we cannot guarantee availability. DESCRIPTION:In this fun 1.5hr children’s workshop\, participants will create their very own friendly\, colourful pinch pot monster.  Once shaped and refined their creation will be left to dry before being fired.  Our Pottery Teacher Christine will give full support and guidance.  Parents are welcome to stay and help but please email us to let us know so we can ensure there is enough room for everybody. \nBefore leaving the workshop\, children can choose a glaze colour for their creation and we will glaze it for you.  Your finished monster will be available to collect a week or so later and we will contact you beforehand. \nThis workshop is for children aged 7+ only.  Parents can stay to help or book a table in the Tearoom. SUMMARY:Kid’s Potters Wheel Taster Thurs 27th August 2pm
DESCRIPTION:This workshop is for children aged 7+ to experience the potters wheel.  You will be guided and helped by our Pottery Teacher Vikki on how to prepare the clay\, fix it to the wheel and how to form a basic pot using just your hands and fingers. \nDue to the strength needed to manipulate the clay and operate the foot peddle this class is not suitable for under 7’s.  Please don’t book a younger child onto this class as they will not be able to participate on the day. \nIf your child has additional needs and will require extra support you will need to be prepared to get involved.  Please email Vikki directly to advise her – vikki@edentearoom.com \nParents and guardians are welcome to stay in the room to watch the class or they may to visit our Tearoom\, although we cannot guarantee availability without booking first. SUMMARY:Potters Wheel Taster Sat 29th August 1.30pm
DESCRIPTION:This 90-minute potters wheel taster will introduce you to the basic principles of making a small pot.  You will be shown how to prepare the clay\, centre the clay onto the potters wheel and how to manipulate the clay to create a form.  This class is taught by our professional Pottery Teachers who have years of experience and teaching.  They will give step-by-step instructions\, perform demonstrations and support you in the process.  You will get two 400g balls of clay to create two pots. \nOnce the class is finished\, the work needs 5-7 days to dry out before going into the kiln for its first firing to 1000oC.  After that we will glaze your pieces in colours you have chosen during the class and your work is then re-fired to over 1200oC.  Once cooled and wrapped\, we will contact you for collection.  The whole process takes approximately 2 weeks. \nFor your safety we advise that no open toed shoes are worn\, long hair is tied back and nails are short if possible. We will provide aprons but please wear clothes and shoes you don’t mind getting clay on. Please pass this information onto everyone you are booking places for. \nYour workshop will be run by our Pottery Teacher Christine. \nPlease note these Potters Wheel Tasters are for aged 16+ only.  We run classes specifically for children during the school holidays. \nWorkshop vouchers are available for this workshop.
