SUMMARY:Potters Wheel Taster Mon 6th April 1pm
DESCRIPTION:This 90-minute potters wheel taster will introduce you to the basic principles of making a small pot.  You will be shown how to prepare the clay\, centre the clay onto the potters wheel and how to manipulate the clay to create a form.  This class is taught by our professional Pottery Teachers who have years of experience and teaching.  They will give step-by-step instructions\, perform demonstrations and support you in the process.  You will get two 400g balls of clay to create two pots. \nOnce the class is finished\, the work needs 5-7 days to dry out before going into the kiln for its first firing to 1000oC.  After that we will glaze your pieces in colours you have chosen during the class and your work is then re-fired to over 1200oC.  Once cooled and wrapped\, we will contact you for collection.  The whole process takes approximately 2 weeks. \nFor your safety we advise that no open toed shoes are worn\, long hair is tied back and nails are short if possible. We will provide aprons but please wear clothes and shoes you don’t mind getting clay on. DESCRIPTION:This workshop is for children aged 7+ to experience the potters wheel.  You will be guided and helped by our Pottery Teacher Vikki on how to prepare the clay\, fix it to the wheel and how to form a basic pot using just your hands and fingers. \nDue to the strength needed to manipulate the clay and operate the foot peddle this class is not suitable for under 7’s.  Please don’t book a younger child onto this class as they will not be able to participate on the day. \nIf your child has additional needs and will require extra support you will need to be prepared to get involved.  Please email Vikki directly to advise her – vikki@edentearoom.com \nParents and guardians are welcome to stay in the room to watch the class or they may to visit our Tearoom\, although we cannot guarantee availability without booking first. SUMMARY:Adult & Kid Potters Wheel Taster Sat 4th April 10.30am
DESCRIPTION:This is a new workshop for Eden involving one adult and one child sharing a potters wheel for the duration.  You will have 40 mins to make a pot following instruction from our teacher\, before swapping places.  You can support\, encourage and help each other throughout the process. Your pots will need to dry for a week and will then be fired and glazed in your choice of colour.  They can be collected at a later date once we have contacted you. \nDue to the skills required to use a potters wheel and manipulate the clay\, the minimum age for this workshop for children is 7 years.  Please ensure both participates are wearing close toed shoes and any long hair is tied back.  Aprons will be provided. \nOne £50 ticket includes 1 x adult and 1 x child \nPlease note we cannot refund or transfer your booking unless your original place is filled.  If you wish to use our Tearoom you must book via our website as we cannot guarantee availability.

SUMMARY:Kid’s Clay Mini House Thurs 2nd April 10.30am
DESCRIPTION:This kid’s workshop is suitable for children aged 7+ only.  You will be showed how to add decoration and cut out doors and windows on a pre-made clay house to make it your own.  You can create your house to any theme you wish.  Colour will be added in the same session.  The finished pieces will be available to collect at a later date once dried and fired in the kiln. \nParents and guardians are welcome to stay in the workshop but you must be willing to be hands-on and help your child if needed.  As we are limited on space we can only allow one adult per child to stay.  You may wish to visit our Tearoom but you must book as we cannot guarantee availability.  Any accompanying adults must stay on Eden premises for the workshop duration. \nPlease only book children aged 7+ onto the workshop. \nWe work hard to keep our workshops affordable and value for money\, therefore we cannot transfer or refund unless your original places are filled.  If you book and cannot attend you must let us know as soon as possible.

DESCRIPTION:Our newly extended Open Studio Access allows you to come and use the pottery workshop facilities to create your own makes.  This can be hand-building projects or on the potters wheel.  You can come for 2\, 4 or 6 hours.  This is not a taught session so although our Pottery Teachers will be on hand for support and advice they will not teach one-to-one. \nIf you book for 2 or 4 hours please email workshops@edentearoom.com to let us know what time you will be attending so we can ensure there is enough room for everyone. \nFrom February 2026 we have a new arrangement starting. Open Access will run every Tuesday from 9.30am – 3.30pm. You must buy your clay from us (cost covers clay\, glazes and 2 firings). Hourly Open Access rates have been reduced.

SUMMARY:Young Kid’s Air-Drying Clay Spring Decorations Mon 30th March 11am
DESCRIPTION:This is a new workshop to cater for younger children. This 45min workshop is aimed at age 4-7 years old only. Participants will be helped to cut out up to three Spring themes shapes in air-drying clay.  They can then use our textures and pattern stamps to decorate.  We will paint them with paints and dry them with a hair dryer so that they can be taken away on the day. \nChildren must be accompanied by a parent or guardian during the workshop and they must be willing to get involved and help.  Our Pottery Teacher will give lots of support and guidance. \nWe work hard to keep our workshops affordable and value for money\, therefore we cannot refund or transfer your booking unless your original places are filled.  If you book and cannot attend you must let us know as soon as possible. \nIf you wish to use our Tearoom before or after the workshop we advise to book via our website as with it being school holidays we cannot guarantee availability.

DESCRIPTION:This 90-minute potters wheel taster will introduce you to the basic principles of making a small pot.  You will be shown how to prepare the clay\, centre the clay onto the potters wheel and how to manipulate the clay to create a form.  This class is taught by our professional Pottery Teachers who have years of experience and teaching.  They will give step-by-step instructions\, perform demonstrations and support you in the process.  You will get two 400g balls of clay to create two pots. \nOnce the class is finished\, the work needs 5-7 days to dry out before going into the kiln for its first firing to 1000oC.  After that we will glaze your pieces in colours you have chosen during the class and your work is then re-fired to over 1200oC.  Once cooled and wrapped\, we will contact you for collection.  The whole process takes approximately 2 weeks. \nFor your safety we advise that no open toed shoes are worn\, long hair is tied back and nails are short if possible. We will provide aprons but please wear clothes and shoes you don’t mind getting clay on. SUMMARY:Potters Wheel Taster Thurs 19th March 11am
DESCRIPTION:This 90-minute potters wheel taster will introduce you to the basic principles of making a small pot.  You will be shown how to prepare the clay\, centre the clay onto the potters wheel and how to manipulate the clay to create a form.  This class is taught by our professional Pottery Teachers who have years of experience and teaching.  They will give step-by-step instructions\, perform demonstrations and support you in the process.  You will get two 400g balls of clay to create two pots. \nOnce the class is finished\, the work needs 5-7 days to dry out before going into the kiln for its first firing to 1000oC.  After that we will glaze your pieces in colours you have chosen during the class and your work is then re-fired to over 1200oC.  Once cooled and wrapped\, we will contact you for collection.  The whole process takes approximately 2 weeks. \nFor your safety we advise that no open toed shoes are worn\, long hair is tied back and nails are short if possible. We will provide aprons but please wear clothes and shoes you don’t mind getting clay on. Please pass this information onto everyone you are booking places for. \nYour workshop will be run by our Pottery Teacher Christine \nPlease note these Potters Wheel Tasters are for aged 16+ only.  We run classes specifically for children during the school holidays. \nWorkshop vouchers are available for this workshop. Please email workshops@edentearoom.com for details. \nWe work hard to price our workshops competitively and provide a quality service.  Therefore\, our policy is that no workshop places can be refunded or transferred unless the place can be filled. SUMMARY:Open Studio Access Tues 17th March from 9.30am
DESCRIPTION:Our newly extended Open Studio Access allows you to come and use the pottery workshop facilities to create your own makes.  This can be hand-building projects or on the potters wheel.  You can come for 2\, 4 or 6 hours.  This is not a taught session so although our Pottery Teachers will be on hand for support and advice they will not teach one-to-one. \nIf you book for 2 or 4 hours please email workshops@edentearoom.com to let us know what time you will be attending so we can ensure there is enough room for everyone. \nFrom February 2026 we have a new arrangement starting. Open Access will run every Tuesday from 9.30am – 3.30pm. You must buy your clay from us (cost covers clay\, glazes and 2 firings). Hourly Open Access rates have been reduced.
