SUMMARY:Beginners Potters Wheel Evening Course 14th April - 5th May 6-8pm
DESCRIPTION:This 4 x session evening course is an introduction to making pots on the potters wheel. You will learn how to prep\, centre and manipulate the clay to create your own forms. Our Pottery Teacher will focus on teaching you how to pull cylinders to a workable height.  You will also be shown basic turning techniques to finish your pots off before firing. \nThe course will run on four consecutive Tuesday evenings starting on 14th April until 5th May\, from 6pm until 8pm.  If you cannot attend a session due to prior commitments or illness\, unfortunately we are unable to provide additional sessions to catch up. Our building shuts at 5pm so access will only be available from 5.45pm and our Tearoom will be closed. Please drive in via our middle gates. \nThis course is suitable for complete beginners as well as anyone who needs a complete refresher on techniques. Adults only. If you have any questions relating to this course you can contact our teachers directly on workshops@edentearoom.com. \nPlease note we cannot offer a transfer or refund unless your original places are filled. \n

SUMMARY:Potters Wheel Taster Sun 12th April 11am
DESCRIPTION:This 90-minute potters wheel taster will introduce you to the basic principles of making a small pot.  You will be shown how to prepare the clay\, centre the clay onto the potters wheel and how to manipulate the clay to create a form.  This class is taught by our professional Pottery Teachers who have years of experience and teaching.  They will give step-by-step instructions\, perform demonstrations and support you in the process.  You will get two 400g balls of clay to create two pots. \nOnce the class is finished\, the work needs 5-7 days to dry out before going into the kiln for its first firing to 1000oC.  After that we will glaze your pieces in colours you have chosen during the class and your work is then re-fired to over 1200oC.  Once cooled and wrapped\, we will contact you for collection.  The whole process takes approximately 2 weeks. \nFor your safety we advise that no open toed shoes are worn\, long hair is tied back and nails are short if possible. We will provide aprons but please wear clothes and shoes you don’t mind getting clay on. Please pass this information onto everyone you are booking places for. \nYour workshop will be run by our Pottery Teacher Vikki \nPlease note these Potters Wheel Tasters are for aged 16+ only.  We run classes specifically for children during the school holidays. \nWorkshop vouchers are available for this workshop. SUMMARY:Kid’s Ceramic Tic Tac Toe Weds 8th April 10.30am
DESCRIPTION:This kid’s clay workshop is suitable for age 7+.  They will be guided on how to create their own ceramic tic tac toe board game (also known as noughts and crosses).  They can design it around their own theme\, be it flowers and butterflies or cartoon characters – the possibilities are endless.  They will add colour on the day and the finished piece can be collected at a later date after drying and firing in the kiln. \nParents and guardians can stay for the workshop but we are limited on space so only one grown up per child.  If you stay\, you must be willing to support and assistant your child.  If you wish to use our Tearoom you may need to book as we cannot guarantee availability. SUMMARY:Adult & Kid Potters Wheel Taster Sat 4th April 10.30am
DESCRIPTION:This is a new workshop for Eden involving one adult and one child sharing a potters wheel for the duration.  You will have 40 mins to make a pot following instruction from our teacher\, before swapping places.  You can support\, encourage and help each other throughout the process. Your pots will need to dry for a week and will then be fired and glazed in your choice of colour.  They can be collected at a later date once we have contacted you. \nDue to the skills required to use a potters wheel and manipulate the clay\, the minimum age for this workshop for children is 7 years.  Please ensure both participates are wearing close toed shoes and any long hair is tied back.  Aprons will be provided. \nOne £50 ticket includes 1 x adult and 1 x child \nPlease note we cannot refund or transfer your booking unless your original place is filled.  If you wish to use our Tearoom you must book via our website as we cannot guarantee availability.

DESCRIPTION:This kid’s workshop is suitable for children aged 7+ only.  You will be showed how to add decoration and cut out doors and windows on a pre-made clay house to make it your own.  You can create your house to any theme you wish.  Colour will be added in the same session.  The finished pieces will be available to collect at a later date once dried and fired in the kiln. \nParents and guardians are welcome to stay in the workshop but you must be willing to be hands-on and help your child if needed.  As we are limited on space we can only allow one adult per child to stay.  You may wish to visit our Tearoom but you must book as we cannot guarantee availability.  Any accompanying adults must stay on Eden premises for the workshop duration. \nPlease only book children aged 7+ onto the workshop. \nWe work hard to keep our workshops affordable and value for money\, therefore we cannot transfer or refund unless your original places are filled.  If you book and cannot attend you must let us know as soon as possible.

SUMMARY:Young Kid’s Air-Drying Clay Spring Decorations Mon 30th March 11am
DESCRIPTION:This is a new workshop to cater for younger children. This 45min workshop is aimed at age 4-7 years old only. DESCRIPTION:Join us in the gallery for our Watercolour Wednesday afternoon. Got a degree in art or never held a brush before come and paint with Karen. \nIn this session you will be guided step-by-step to create a miniature watercolour landscape painting incorporating a range of techniques. (See photo) All materials provided for this class. \nThis session is very informal and relaxed. It’s taught by veteran watercolour artist Karen Buckels who has spent a lifetime of teaching art. \n“If yours isn’t at the same standard as mine then it’s my fault and NOT YOURS and i’ve never had a failure yet!” ~ Karen Buckels. \nThis session will start at 1pm. \nPlease note that if you wish to use our Tearoom after the workshop you must book via our website as we cannot guarantee availability. \nWe work hard to price our workshops fairly and offer good value for money. SUMMARY:Potters Wheel Taster Weds 25th March 10.30am
DESCRIPTION:This 90-minute potters wheel taster will introduce you to the basic principles of making a small pot.  You will be shown how to prepare the clay\, centre the clay onto the potters wheel and how to manipulate the clay to create a form.  This class is taught by our professional Pottery Teachers who have years of experience and teaching.  They will give step-by-step instructions\, perform demonstrations and support you in the process.  You will get two 400g balls of clay to create two pots. \nOnce the class is finished\, the work needs 5-7 days to dry out before going into the kiln for its first firing to 1000oC.  After that we will glaze your pieces in colours you have chosen during the class and your work is then re-fired to over 1200oC.  Once cooled and wrapped\, we will contact you for collection.  The whole process takes approximately 2 weeks. \nFor your safety we advise that no open toed shoes are worn\, long hair is tied back and nails are short if possible. We will provide aprons but please wear clothes and shoes you don’t mind getting clay on. Please pass this information onto everyone you are booking places for. \nYour workshop will be run by our Pottery Teacher Christine. \nPlease note these Potters Wheel Tasters are for aged 16+ only.  We run classes specifically for children during the school holidays. \nWorkshop vouchers are available for this workshop. SUMMARY:Open Studio Access Tues 24th March from 9.30am
DESCRIPTION:Our newly extended Open Studio Access allows you to come and use the pottery workshop facilities to create your own makes.  This can be hand-building projects or on the potters wheel.  You can come for 2\, 4 or 6 hours.  This is not a taught session so although our Pottery Teachers will be on hand for support and advice they will not teach one-to-one. \nIf you book for 2 or 4 hours please email workshops@edentearoom.com to let us know what time you will be attending so we can ensure there is enough room for everyone. \nFrom February 2026 we have a new arrangement starting. Open Access will run every Tuesday from 9.30am – 3.30pm. You must buy your clay from us (cost covers clay\, glazes and 2 firings). Hourly Open Access rates have been reduced.

DESCRIPTION:This is a new series of workshops we are running aimed at people who are regular makers and have an interest in developing their skills and knowledge. Each session will focus on a different topic or technique.
