SUMMARY:Potters Wheel with Marbled Clay Sat 20th June 10.30am
DESCRIPTION:This is a new workshop aimed at people who have some potters wheel experience. \nThe day will start colouring your clay. This involves wedging coloured pigments into white clay until you have an even colour throughout.  You will need a small range of colours to create the marbled effect. All materials are provided. \nYou will break for lunch at 12.30pm for an hour.  Once you have booked your place\, we will send you a menu to choose your pre ordered food. Your lunch and two drinks are included in the workshop price. \nAfter lunch\, you will use your marbled clay on the potters wheel to create small vessels. You will be shown how to use tools to highlight the marbled effect. \nOnce dried and fired we will clear glaze your pieces and refine.  You can collected your finished pieces at a later date. \nFor your safety we advise that no open toed shoes are worn\, long hair is tied back and nails are short if possible. We will provide aprons but please wear clothes and shoes you don’t mind getting clay on. SUMMARY:Potters Wheel Taster Sun 21st June 11.30am
DESCRIPTION:Treat the Dad in your life. \nThis 90-minute potters wheel taster will introduce you to the basic principles of making a small pot.  You will be shown how to prepare the clay\, centre the clay onto the potters wheel and how to manipulate the clay to create a form.  This class is taught by our professional Pottery Teachers who have years of experience and teaching.  They will give step-by-step instructions\, perform demonstrations and support you in the process.  You will get two 400g balls of clay to create two pots. \nOnce the class is finished\, the work needs 5-7 days to dry out before going into the kiln for its first firing to 1000oC.  After that we will glaze your pieces in colours you have chosen during the class and your work is then re-fired to over 1200oC.  Once cooled and wrapped\, we will contact you for collection.  The whole process takes approximately 2 weeks. \nFor your safety we advise that no open toed shoes are worn\, long hair is tied back and nails are short if possible. We will provide aprons but please wear clothes and shoes you don’t mind getting clay on. DESCRIPTION:Join Helen Worthington from Evendawn Arts in this ‘Exploring Watercolour’ Workshop. \nThis is a perfect taster workshop for anyone who’s always wanted to try watercolour painting but have been too nervous to! It’s also great for those with a small amount of experience to practice looser painting styles and build confidence. \nThe aim of this ‘Exploring Watercolours’ class is to have FUN\, and to get past the anxiety many people experience when approaching watercolour painting! There is absolutely NO DRAWING involved\, so you can simply enjoy playing with the paints\, without stressing over the outcome.  \nYou’ll explore how to use a basic set of colours and see the way they blend and harmonise on paper\, along with using different types of brushes and some more unusual tools to create fascinating effects. \nThere will be a selection of simple and enjoyable exercises\, which will offer you a great basis in watercolor painting. You may then want to explore these topics further at later date. \nThis is not the type of class for those with more advanced watercolour skills\, or those wishing to learn how to draw/paint landscapes or ‘formal’ types of work. \nAll materials included in this session. \nPlease ensure you bring something suitable to carry your work home in – an A4 folder or envelope will be fine.  \n  \nPlease note that if you wish to use Eden’s first floor Tearoom before or after the workshop\, even for drinks and cake\, you must book a table via the website as availability cannot be guaranteed.  \nPlease note that we have a clear non-refundable & no transfer policy to ensure that we cover our costs and protect the ongoing viability of the workshop.
