SUMMARY:Evening Beginners Pottery Course 3rd - 24th September 6.30pm
DESCRIPTION:Our ever popular evening beginners pottery course returns for another block of 4 sessions.  This course is suitable for anyone interested in learning about creating in clay or who may want to refresh rusty skills.  We will focus on hand building techniques and processes.  This course is suitable for anyone aged 16+. If you are interested in learning how to make pottery on a potters wheel\, we also run a beginners potters wheel evening course – see our website listings page. \nThis course will start on Thursday 3rd September and run for 4 consecutive Thursday evenings until 24th September.  Sessions will start at 6.30pm until 9pm and the total cost is £200\, which includes all clay\, glazes\, tuition\, kiln firings and use of studio facilities.  Our teacher Vikki is a fully qualified professional who has been teaching pottery for over 25 years. Her endless patience and friendly nature will ensure you have a positive experience regardless of your skills or confidence. DESCRIPTION:*NEW WORKSHOP* \nOur much-anticipated Highland Cow workshop has finally arrived.  Designed for those with some clay experience\, this workshop is not suitable as a first pottery class. If you wish to discuss this\, please email our Pottery Teacher Vikki on vikki@edentearoom.com. \nUsing terracotta clay\, you’ll create this charming Highland Cow sculpture step by step.  You’ll be shown how to build the basic hollow form\, add characterful facial features and complete the signature long flowing coat that makes this breed so distinctive. \nDue to the level of detail involved\, this is a full-day workshop.  We’ll break for lunch approximately halfway through the day.  We can reserve a table for you in our Tearoom (please email Vikki in advance)\, or you’re welcome to dine elsewhere.  Please note that\, in line with our Health & Safety policy\, food brought from outside may not be consumed anywhere on Eden premises\, including the outdoor seating area. \nPlease note that we cannot refund or transfer any bookings unless your original places are filled. \n

SUMMARY:Beginners Potters Wheel Evening Course Tues 8th-29th Sept 6-8pm
DESCRIPTION:This 4 x session evening course is an introduction to making pots on the potters wheel. You will learn how to prep\, centre\, manipulate and turn the clay to create your own forms. Our Pottery Teacher will focus on teaching you how to pull cylinders to a workable height.  You will also be shown basic turning techniques to finish your pots off before firing. \nThe course will run on four consecutive Tuesday evenings starting on 8th September until 29th September\, starting at 6pm until 8pm.  If you cannot attend a session due to prior commitments or illness\, unfortunately we are unable to provide additional sessions to catch up. \nThis course is suitable for complete beginners as well as anyone who needs a complete refresher on techniques. DESCRIPTION:Join Helen Worthington from Evendawn Arts in this ‘Exploring Watercolour’ Workshop. \nThis is a perfect taster workshop for anyone who’s always wanted to try watercolour painting but have been too nervous to! It’s also great for those with a small amount of experience to practice looser painting styles and build confidence. \nThe aim of this ‘Exploring Watercolours’ class is to have FUN\, and to get past the anxiety many people experience when approaching watercolour painting! There is absolutely NO DRAWING involved\, so you can simply enjoy playing with the paints\, without stressing over the outcome.  \nYou’ll explore how to use a basic set of colours and see the way they blend and harmonise on paper\, along with using different types of brushes and some more unusual tools to create fascinating effects. \nThere will be a selection of simple and enjoyable exercises\, which will offer you a great basis in watercolor painting. You will learn how to draw decorative illustrations and flourishes to complement your calligraphy lettering on stationery pieces. Within the workshop we will teach you how to make/refill your own candles and have the confidence to create your own large 250ml scented soy wax candle to take home and enjoy.
