Join Helen Worthington of Evendawn Arts in this beginners to intermediate watercolour seahorse workshop. Seahorses are such a beautiful and delicate creatures, making them the ideal subject for a watercolour project. A drawing will be provided for you on suitable watercolour paper, so you don’t need to worry about drawing the seahorse yourself! To start with, there will be a ‘warm-up’ exercise with the watercolours we’ll be using, to give you the opportunity to choose/mix your preferred colours, test brushes and different application methods of the paint before we start. It also dispels a little of the ‘fear’ at the sight of a blank piece of paper and gets us relaxed ready to paint! You’ll also be shown how to use masking fluid to ensure there are areas of white paper left to show through after the paints have been used, which is an excellent technique to acquire for future watercolour paintings you might want to try. The rest of the session will be the completion of the Seahorse, and you will have produced a medium sized piece of artwork at the end, for which you’ll be provided with a suitable mount as part of the class fee. All materials Provided.
