Join Helen Worthington of Evendawn Arts for this watercolour experience workshop. This is a perfect taster workshop for anyone who’s always wanted to try watercolour painting but been too nervous to! It is also great for those with a small amount of experience to expand their understanding, and who may want to learn how to ‘play’ with loosening up their watercolour painting.
No drawing involved on this workshop (unless someone wants to!), but plenty of playing with the texture of watercolour paints – how they mix, how they flow, and how they can be turned into something beautiful – without worrying about a traditional ‘form’.
The aim is to allow everyone to have FUN, and to get past the anxiety many people experience when approaching watercolour painting!
We’ll get used to the feel of brushes, and mixing colours for the best result in a painting, and we’ll also look at working with liner pens and washes of watercolours, to create a beautiful yet simple piece of work.
There will be the opportunity to try an ‘abstract-style’ tree painting, and each participant will receive a mount cut ready to place on one of their pieces of work from the session.
This is not the type of workshop for those with more advanced watercolour skills, or those wishing to learn how to draw/paint landscapes or ‘formal’ types of work.
All materials will be provided. However, if any participants have got their own watercolour paints (tubes or pans are both fine) and brushes, they would be very welcome to bring them, as they’ll learn how to become comfortable with using them.
Cancellations: Non-refundable – within 14 days of workshop date
Please note if you wish to use our Tearoom after the class you must book a table via our website as we cannot guarantee availability.
