This is a fun and instant result workshop that gives a brief insight into the wonder of Raku.
Raku is a glaze technique which is done at low temperature and items are placed into a closed container of paper & sawdust to create a reduction atmosphere which creates colour and effects from the glazes. It involves smoke, fire and quick movement!
At Eden we have the facilities and expertise to run microwave Raku sessions, which is all the fun of normal Raku but on a smaller scale. You will be provided with 2 small premade pots which you can glaze and fire. Full instructions and guidance will be given. Most suitable for those with some pottery experience but beginners welcome.
Please wear suitable clothes and footwear. Long hair must be tied back. All Health and Safety procedures will be explained and followed.
As this event is after hours, our Tearoom will be closed.
